Will take 45 minutes or more to get a single day pass even with your military sponsor there. It took us 45 minutes and they only did THREE people ahead of us… So ridiculous and the people checking you in to get your pass are SO slow with zero sense of efficiency or urgency. The line was to the door with 10 people behind me by time I got up to the front. Something major changed recently because a month ago it was super fast and they were military workers, now it appears to be contracted security workers in non military uniforms. Give yourself an hour and bring a coffee..

Friendly, professional workers who decide if you can access Fort Wainright. Small building that is not an interpretive or historic visitor center. Just a crucial stop if you want to access the base. Bring ID. No restrooms.
